Aircraft maintenance personnel would perform the pre-wash preparation procedures as instructed in the appropriate engine manuals. The engine lines are disconnected, capped off and prepared by the maintenance crew according to the manufacturer’s specifications manuals. While this preparation is completed, the AJW equipment is also being prepared.
The Service Vans contain everything needed to wash the engines. Once the UTIPs and Collection Suit are installed, Wash System is connected and ready to use. The engine is rotated, using the starter, to about 20% of its idle speed, and the water/detergent is injected through the Telescopic Injection Probes into the engine in accordance with the AMM or Line Maintenance Manual Guidance.
